Well, it's been an alright week. I've just been mostly chillen at home. Last night I was supposed to chill with Chelsea,but, she never called me after I initially went to her house. Then I missed Jimbo's calls because of Ashley/Jimmy drama. Well ,the first one I did call back within like 2 minutes,but, never got through for another fifteen. I was yet again called a liar and insulted about caring about him while we were together. Fuck both of them. If they have problem with it, they can take it up with me or Jimbo. Jimmy's lucky RJ didn't fucking hit him that night we were all chillen with Steve and Hannah.Speaking of him, he told me he wanted to talk to me about a girl and didn't say much else. I guess it wasn't that important. As of today, I obviously have off. I'm hoping Jimbo calls today or atleast gets minutes for his phone. I wish he could go on our family plan. Today's Random Article of the Day: Amanda Palmer

Amanda MacKinnon Palmer (born April 30, 1976) is a performer most noted for being the lead singer, pianist, and lyricist/composer of the "Brechtian punk cabaret" duo The Dresden Dolls.

Biography

Palmer grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts. She attended Bridge Elementary School, Jonas Clarke Middle School and Lexington High School, where she was heavily involved in the drama department, and attended Wesleyan University where she was a member of the Eclectic Society. She worked at Toscanini's ice cream shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She staged performances based on work by the Legendary Pink Dots, an early influence, and was involved in the Legendary Pink Dots electronic mailing list, Cloud Zero. She then formed the Shadowbox Collective, devoted to putting on theatrical shows (such as the 2002 play, Hotel Blanc, which she directed) and street theatre, and busked as a living statue called "The Eight Foot Bride" in Harvard Square, Australia, where she met Jason Webley, as well as in many other locations. She references this line of work on The Dresden Dolls' self-titled CD, with the song "The Perfect Fit":

"I can paint my face
And stand very, very still
It's not very practical
But it still pays the bills"

as well as on the A is for Accident track "Glass Slipper":

"I give out flowers
To curious strangers
who throw dollars at my feet."

A group of white-painted living statues appears in the music video to the single "Sing" from the Dresden Dolls' album Yes, Virginia....

Despite the fact that Palmer never learned to read music (though she briefly took lessons at two different times), she started a solo effort, named "Amanda Palmer and the Void."

At a Halloween party in 2000, Palmer met drummer Brian Viglione and together they formed The Dresden Dolls. In an effort to expand the performance experience and interactivity, Palmer began inviting Lexington High School students to perform drama pieces at her live shows. Currently, the Dirty Business Brigade, a troupe of seasoned and new artists, perform at many gigs. The invited costumed characters mingle with the crowd before and during the show, and veteran groups sometimes join in with a choreographed stage act. Life-sized marionettes, coin-operated boys, living statues, and other undergroundlings greet fans while circus and burlesque draw the audience into the Dolls' music, creating a participatory atmosphere that allows the audience to experience numerous types of art simultaneously.

After gathering to her a cult following, the band recorded their debut album in 2002 with producer Martin Bisi of indie, New York/Brooklyn fame. They self-published the album before being picked up by Roadrunner Records.

In 2006, The Dresden Dolls Companion, was published, with "words, music & artwork" by Amanda Palmer.^[3] In it she has written a history of the album The Dresden Dolls and of the duo, as well as a partial autobiography. The book also contains the lyrics, sheet music, and notes on each song in the album, all written by her, as well as a DVD with a 20 minute interview of Amanda about making the book.

In June 2007, as part of the Dresden Dolls, she toured with the True Colors Tour 2007, including her debut in New York City's Radio City Music Hall, and her first review in the New York Times.

July 2008 saw the release of the second Dresden Dolls book, the Virginia Companion. It is a follow-up to the Dresden Dolls Companion, featuring the music and lyrics from the Yes, Virginia... and No, Virginia... albums.

Amanda Palmer and the Onion Cellar

Palmer conceived a musical, The Onion Cellar, which the Dresden Dolls performed in conjunction with the American Repertory Theater at the Zero Arrow Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from December 9, 2006 to January 13, 2007.

Palmer's solo album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer, was released on 16 September 2008.Ben Folds produced and also played on the album.The title is a play on an expression used by fans during Twin Peaks' original run, "Who killed Laura Palmer?" A companion book of photos of Amanda looking as if she were murdered was released in July 2009 featuring photography by Kyle Cassidy and accompanying writing by Neil Gaiman.

In July 2007, Amanda played three sold out shows (Boston, Hoboken, and NYC) in rare "with band" performances. Her backing band was Boston alternative rock group Aberdeen City, who also opened along with Dixie Dirt. In August 2007, Amanda traveled to perform in the Spiegeltent and other venues at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, and also performed on BBC Two's The Edinburgh Show. She collaborated with Australian theater company, "The Danger Ensemble"; both again appeared at the Spiegeltent in Melbourne and at other venues around Australia in December 2007. In September 2007 Amanda collaborated with Jason Webley to release Evelyn Evelyn's debut EP "Elephant Elephant" via Jason's Eleven Records. In June 2008, Amanda established her solo career with two well-received performances with the Boston Pops. In Autumn 2008, she toured Europe with Jason Webley, Zoe Keating and The Danger Ensemble, performing songs mostly from her debut solo album. She did most of the shows with a broken foot she had sustained in Ireland when a car ran over her foot as she stepped out into a street.In April 2009, she played at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

In the spring of 2009, Amanda went back to her alma mater, Lexington High School in Massachusetts to collaborate with her old director and mentor Steven Bogart on a workshop piece for the department's spring production. The play, With the Needle that Sings in Her Heart was inspired by Neutral Milk Hotel's album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea and The Diary of Anne Frank. It received an overwhelmingly positive response from the Lexington community and abroad. NPR's Avishay Artsy interviewed the cast in a piece featured on All Things Considered on closing night of the production Amanda described this process as "what it's all about" in her blog.

She has amassed an online following of over 111,476 people

Disputes with record label

Fans' "ReBellyon"

After the release of her music video for the song "Leeds United," Palmer sparked controversy with a post in her blog. She claimed Roadrunner Records had wanted to pull certain shots from the video that exposed her stomach, because "they thought I looked fat." After her fans read about this, they immediately posted pictures of their stomachs online with messages to Roadrunner, lyrics, and words of comfort. They then sent in their pictures to the record label, and even started their own Web site. The fans coined a term for the movement: The ReBellyon.^[19] Pitchfork Magazineand The Guardian were among publications reporting on the controversy. Since then The Rebellyon has developed a Web site run by independent musician Matt Wyllie.

Partly because of the controversy caused by the Leeds video, Palmer has recently made attempts to be dropped from Roadrunner Records, which included posting a song on her online blog which asked the label to do so.Subsequently, a message on Amazon.com from "8footvag" has asked fans to buy music, merchandise and books from Palmer herself either personally or through mail order, via her website and to pass this message on to others.

Oasis controversy

Amanda's song "Oasis", and its follow up video, sparked more controversy. Her semi-autobiographical lyrics tell a story of rape and abortion from the perspective of a teenager, who gets through the traumatic experience thanks to her preoccupation with the Brit-pop band Oasis. The subject matter of the song, and the upbeat way it was portrayed in the video, proved to be too much for broadcasters in the United Kingdom. Palmer received an e-mail while she was in the U.K. from her label there explaining that "all" of the TV outlets in the U.K. had refused to play the video due to its "making light of rape, religion, and abortion." Palmer, in response, reached out to her fans via a lengthy message on her blog.There, she wrote "i suggested that i might be allowed to play it if i just slowed it way down and played it in a minor key. think about it. if they heard the same lyrics against the backdrop of a very sad and liliting piano, maybe with some tear-jerking strings thrown in for good measure, would they take issue?"

Personal life

Amanda's residence in Boston, the Cloud Club, was featured in a 2006 episode of Chronicle the Boston Channel's newsmagazine, which is archived on YouTube.

Amanda practices meditation and has written an article Melody vs. Meditation, for the Buddhist Publication Shambhala Sun on the struggle between being a songwriter and being able to clear one's mind in order to meditate.

She identifies as bisexual. "I'm bisexual, but it's not the sort of thing I spent a lot of time thinking about", Palmer said. "I've slept with girls; I've slept with guys, so I guess that's what they call it! I'm not anti trying to use language to simplify our lives."

Palmer has stated on her blog that she had an abortion at age 17. In the same blog post, she stated that she was date raped when she was 20 years old.

Palmer has also mentioned her pescetarianism in videos and blogs.

In June 2009, during the Q&A at an event they were doing together, writer Neil Gaiman and Amanda stated that they are dating.

I have nothing to post as of yet except I still haven't heard from Steve. And therefore still deliberating over what he's going to say. That and I'm supposed to be over Josh & Keith's like all weekend. Which means I gotta have atleast $4 on me daily to take the 7 to 22nd & Reed and then back to 4th & Oregon at night. Guilty Plea in Bird-for-Children Swap

VILLE PLATTE, La. (Oct. 14) - A Louisiana couple admitted giving an exotic bird to a woman in exchange for two children, a district attorney said Wednesday.

Paul and Brandy Romero, of Eunice, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of sale of a minor child, Evangeline Parish District Attorney Trent Brignac's office said in a statement. Their five-year prison sentences were suspended in exchange for their testimony against the woman accused of handing over the children, Donna Greenwell of Glenmora, the statement said.

The Romeros traded their cockatoo and $175 for the children in February. Greenwell is not their mother, but the children were living with her. Prosecutors say she "instigated" the transfer when she responded to the Romeros' advertisement for sale of the bird.

Greenwell, who is free on bond, has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of sale of minor children. Her trial is set for November.

Greenwell's lawyer, Steve Sikich, has said previously that there was no swap involved and that Greenwell was trying to find a suitable home for the children. He did not immediately return a call for comment on Wednesday's guilty pleas.

The DAs' statement said Paul Romero, 46, and 28-year-old Brandy were unable to have children and "unaware of the exact legal requirements for transferring custody of minor children. The couple maintains they were simply trying to provide a home for two children that were unwanted by Greenwell."

Authorities initially thought Greenwell had kidnapped the children, but then learned that the biological parents were aware they were living with Greenwell.

Chill day at home. No complaints,though. I'm currently watching the Phillies game and talking to Keith. I'm most likely stopping by his place this weekend seeing as I have off Friday & next Monday. Should be great. As for my plans tomorrow, I'll be with Jimbo. Who's truly on my mind now is Steve. He texted me like two hours ago saying he wanted to talk to me, said,"Nevermind.", and then decided he'd tell me later. Anxiousness and curiosity are gnawing at me. I have no idea what it could be about that he wouldn't say anything while out, chillen with people at his house, or wherever he was. I'm giving him until midnight and then I'm asking. Well, last night was pretty good. I was with Rob, Shawn, and Brian most of the night. Chilled with them from like 9:30-12:30. It was fucking freezing. Walked around. Went up South Street. Got a free ICP sampler CD. Made out with and did a bit more with Rob. XDDDDD Nothing past 2nd base. He's still taking to Gabbie,though, but it's on a friendly level as far as I know. But, she's been sending him raunchy videos on his Sidekick. The one she was masturbating and the other she was like jiggling her boobs around ,clockwise, topless. She's my friend and all,but, the more I see the things she does, the more questionable her judgement and character become. Hung out with my cousin Chelsea, Katie, and Brittany Fowler at 4th & Wolf for a few minutes before I went in. Kissed Rob good night at 4th & Ritner and just watched movies. As for today, I've just been inside online. It's still cold and rainy. Keith and I've been talking on Gaia since this afternoon. Him and Josh now live on 23rd & Gerrit with Kim. Point Breeze isn't one of the best neighborhoods,but, there are worse in Philly. Like, Mantua or here. They're paying $600/month for a house which isn't too bad at all. Due to the weather, I haven't really been doing much except chillen and watching the Phillies game,but, I'm content with that. (Final score today was 2-1, Dodgers.) Plus, of course, continuing my job hunt. I finished up a application for Borders up today. I'm determined to be hired by December 1.

LSA, also known as d-lysergic acid amide, d-lysergamide, ergine, and LA-111, is an alkaloid of the ergoline family that occurs in various species of vines of the Convolvulaceae and some species of fungi. As the dominant alkaloid in the hallucinogenic seeds of Rivea corymbosa (ololiuhqui), Argyreia nervosa (Hawaiian baby woodrose) and Ipomoea tricolor (morning glories, tlitliltzin), it is often stated that ergine and/or isoergine (its epimer) is responsible for the psychedelic activity. In fact, the effects of synthetic LSA and iso-LSA are not particularly psychedelic, see Mixing the Kykeon below for a summary of human trials, and Chapter 17 and entry #26 of TiHKAL for further discussion. As a precursor to LSD, ergine is a DEA schedule III drug in the United States.

History

A traditional use of morning glory seeds by Mexican Native Americans was first described by Richard Schultes in 1941 in a short report documenting their use going back to Aztec times (cited in TiHKAL by Alexander Shulgin). Further research was published in 1960, when Don Thomes MacDougall reported that the seeds of Ipomoea tricolor were used as sacraments by certain Zapotecs, sometimes in conjunction with the seeds of Rivea corymbosa, another species which has a similar chemical composition, with lysergol instead of ergometrine. Ergine was assayed for human activity by Albert Hofmann in self-trials in 1947, well before it was known to be a natural compound. Intramuscular administration of a 500 microgram dose led to a tired, dreamy state, with an inability to maintain clear thoughts. After a short period of sleep the effects were gone, and normal baseline was recovered within five hours.

In 1956 the Central Intelligence Agency conducted research on the psychedelic properties of the ergine in the seeds of Rivea corymbosa, as Subproject 22 of MKULTRA.

Natural occurrence

Ergine has been found in high concentrations of 20 µg/g dry weight in the grass Stipa robusta (sleepygrass) infected with an Acremonium endophytic fungus together with other ergot alkaloids.

It is also found in the seeds of several varieties of Morning Glories in concentrations of approximately 10 µg per seed, as well as Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds, at a concentration of around .3%.

Extraction

LSA can be extracted from morning glory (Ipomoea spp.) seeds or Hawaiian baby woodrose.

Well, I haven't really been up to much. I went out for a bit with Alyssa and Erika Sunday night. I ran into Jimbo. I thought he was being ignorant because he barely stopped and talked to me. According to Ly, he felt I was avoiding him. XD How am I supposed to get in touch with him if I'm not allowed in his sister's house or if he needs minutes? The last time I texted or called him prior to that, he still had them. He accused me of not answering or calling him back. I did have numbers in my missed call log that I didn't recognize,but, they never responded. Monday was a chill day. I was supposed to spend time with him yesterday and he never called or anything. I swear, sometimes he cares more about Xanax than myself. Though, he could of just been genuinely busy. As for today, I had a class retreat at this church in Manayunk from like 9:00-12:30. Other than that, I'm supposed to chill with Mike,but, he hasn't gotten in contact with me yet, either. It's freezing as fuck out today, anyway. Well, that's all for now Xanga whores,buh-bye.

Well last night actually turned out to be interesting. Erika,Richie, and Alyssa came around at like 6:30. We went to Richie's dad's for a little bit. Richie and Erika were supposed to drink with Tommy and his girlfriend Danielle. She has some weird jealousy issues about Tommy saying I had a "bangin body",so, she said I wasn't invited. Me and Erika decided to just leave while they were doing whatever in the house. We were gonna go to McDonald's,but, as soon as we got to 3rd & Oregon, Richie called for us to wait. We wound up sitting in the Rec while him and Alyssa came. In the meantime, these kids (black kids and a fat white kid), who were like no older than 13 were hitting on us and trying to ask us out. It was kinda funny at first and we just kinda tried to be nice about it,but, these kids turned out to be little pervs. They started asking if I had underwear on, talking about their dicks, and looking up my cherry skirt. When they got there and we started walking back up 4th, they started following us. The one kid kept touching my ass while they were walking behind us. I wasn't about to hit a 7th grader,but, they had gone too far. That's technically sexual harassment. I did say shit to them,but, Alyssa took it to another level. She tried to say I didn't stick up for myself afterwards,but, she just takes things too far and thinks everything needs to be solved with fighting. I honestly have matured to the point that you should only put your hands up to somebody in self defense. Me and Alyssa wound up leaving them on 9th Street and walked back to her dad's house. We wound up going on the computer, going to this corner store up 7th, and then watching parts of Coyote Ugly,"World's Strictest Parents", and "Wanda Sykes:Ima Be Me",plus, the entirety of Marley & Me. That movie was so sad. Especially, when the dog was in the process of being put to sleep. A notable thing in that time,though, is that Alyssa called Erika to see what they were doing: sleeping there,Tommy's, or the house on 9th & Watkins. Alyssa said she sounded beyond fucked up and that Erika said that Richie fell asleep in the bathroom. Alyssa wound up going to her mom's house so I just went in. When I was on my way home, this black guy stopped me for my number on 7th & Porter. He actually texted me earlier,but, I informed him of my plans. Watched the rest of Wanda Syke's special and went online until like 4:30. Woke up at 11:00. Erika and Alyssa came around one,but, I told them to come back later on. I felt so bad,though. Erika said she was hungover and out of it today,plus, threw up like 10 times last night. She had like eight big glasses of $20/gallon vodka and Hawaiian Punch. I love how anybody who has an experiance like that swears off alcohol. They never follow. XDDDD As of now, I've just been chillen. I got a message today from Target that I wasn't what they were looking for. I applied to Burger King,too, so I'm waiting on that. So far,though, no phonecalls from anybody. Oh well. I would of updated sooner,but, I was without internet September 21-October 6. There was a mistake with Verizon and my service was canceled instead of some customer's with a business account. I have no idea why it took long to have the connection turned back on,but, I'm just glad it is. As for everything that's been going on, it's getting separate into categories:

Love/Relationships
-Eddie and I never got together,but, are still friends. He's actually quite a good kisser.
-I was talking to this boy Dan that's from 9th Street and works at Wachovia. We only dated not even 24 hours because he didn't like the fact I was Goth or smoked. He turned out to be a weirdo anyway because he liked Erika and he just was delusional & shit.
-I tried dating this dude Terric that's 16 and actually in college. I wasn't feeling him,though. He was also a fake in some ways.
-I was talking to Richie's Uncle Jimbo. Like I actually fell asleep in his arms at Richie's mom's house and felt this deep connection with him. I haven't really talked to him lately. I've heard,though, that he's a player and is only out for sex.
-Rob's been talking to me a lot lately.
-I've also been talking to this guy Mike. He's 21,lives in the Northeast, and is an architecture major at Temple. He has voiced himself wanting to be with me,but, we haven't really hung out enough yet.
-Erika broke up with Richie, went out with Rjay (pronounced RJ) & it turned out he was cheating and just his opinions on certain parts of relationships were too different from hers.
-I saw Jimmy twice already. Lulz and creepiness internally ensued.

Friends
-I've been hanging over Dave's and Steve's lately.
-I'm supposed to start writing songs for Steve's new band The Stillborn, which, is Industrial/Rap.
-I've also been up Richie's way a lot,but, haven't since I got permabanned because Richie's sister Skye made up a
-I've gotten back in touch with Sean and Stefan.
-I was on the phone for 2 hours last night with Jamie talking about our lives lately.

-I'm also on my way to becoming friends with Steven's girlfriend Hannah, who's 18, lives in Hatboro, and is a design major at Drexel.

Family
-My dad's drinking kinda worsened for a few days.
-Eden turned ten on Monday.
-For her birthday party she had sleepover and I also took her guest to go see Whip It. They were like bored to death and would't sit or shut up,but, I loved the movie.
-My mom will be forty-four on the 17th.
-My parents have been down the Shore practically every weekend since school started.
-My dad bought a boat. It needs work,but, has like an actual cabin and all. I can't wait to be in that shit this Summer.

School
-Ive been getting everything done, with only some late assignments because of the lack of internet.
-I truly believe I am going to get 2nd Honors on my first report card.
- I got my first progess report today and am doing well. The only negative things are Ms. Lafty said I need to participate more and she left a comment about my late work. I've been handing everything in on time,though, this week.
-I have to get started on my version of the Inferno for her class, as well.
-I have Senior retreat on Wednesday. I get to wear regular clothes and go home at 12:30,but, it can't be too casual. I'm kinda working on trying to find something that fits the dresscode.
-I'm staying home from school on the 23rd because I could seriously care less about the Hallahan show.
-I'm thinking of being Jackie O...post-assasination (bloody with JFK's brain matter on her Chanel, smudged makeup,etc) for senior costume privilage on the 30th.
-I am the vice-president of Asian Culture Club.

College
-So far I've applied to Northland, Drexel, UMM, and Robert Morris University.
-Additions to the official list include:

-Exclusions include, as of, now (There will be most likely more once I star visits.) :

-Chestnut Hill College is giving me a $48k scholarship if I apply. I'd rather much give their school a chance than King's.

Employment
-I still have no job,but, have been applying like crazy lately.
-Currently, I am waiting to hear back from the Marriot , Target, FYE, Pizza Hut, Wawa, and Petco.
-I've already been turned down by K-Mart,Dunkin Donuts, and Petsmart.
-I'm still looking into many other posistions. I will get hired by December!

Other
-I've made it an aspirtation to drink once a week. And it's been kept.
-I intend to go to Nocturne all Christmas break. If feasible.

-I got my phone stolen at the corner of 3rd & Cantrell while waiting for Mike. This Korean came up to me and asked me for a cigarette, kept asking other questions about it, and then just grabbed it out of my hand. I tried to grab it back, almost grabbed his shirt before he could get further away, and chased him towards forth. He disappeared at the corner,though. He had another Korean dude with him on a bike,so, he probably got on his pegs and were off. I filed a police report and looked with them with both the police & my dad for an hour each. For the time being, I have to use Eden's old phone, the Samsung Behold:

A new Curve with my insurance is only $125,but, my mom said to use that for time being until she orders it.
